The Old Barns at Christmastime

I’m sharing a few photos of this year’s exterior Christmas decorations. My sister and I dressed up the old barns a bit. They’re so beautiful in their natural state that I think minimal adornment is best. The flocked velvet ribbons are a deep merlot and a rich purple though they may appear lighter in certain photos.

When I was growing up, my family always started decorating in early to mid December (never in November!), and that timing has stuck with me. This year, however, I didn’t plan particularly well so I wasn’t able to add my seasonal touches everywhere I would have liked – or refine what I did. However, the property still feels festive, and it makes me happy.
